Character

Alpha Omicron Pi was founded on a promise to serve not only one another but the greater community as well. This commitment reflects a philosophy of friendship, concern, and usefulness in the world.

Commitment to
Dignity

Whether a member chooses to serve as a chapter officer, or represent AOII as a member of other campus or community organizations, there are numerous opportunities to develop leadership skills as a member of AOII.

Commitment to
Scholarship

AOII encourages all members to excel academically and has many programs designed to assist women in achieving their academic goals. Expectations are high but the support provided by scholarship programs, academic development officer resources, and fellow members makes success attainable.

Commitment to
College Loyalty

From collegiate years on through alumnae involvement, the reason AOIIs continue service is the joy of spending time together and sharing the insights learned from the relationships we build and sustain.

Letter from the President

Alpha Omicron Pi is an international women's fraternity that encourages lifelong friendships, inspires ambition, and promotes character, dignity, scholarship and college loyalty. The principles that we have been taught by AOII created the strong women we were destined to be. Being a sister of Alpha Omicron Pi means staying true to the values laid out by our founders: Stella George SternPerry, Jessie Wallace Hughan, Helen St. Clair Mullan, and Elizabeth Heywood Wyman. Being a sister of Alpha Omicron Pi means becoming a leader. Not only being a leader within our chapter but also being a leader in society. We are always ready to give back to the community by volunteering on- or off-campus or by taking on other leadership positions in life. Being a sister of Alpha Omicron Pi, you find values you didn’t even know you were missing in life. We’re not different from the people we were before we joined a family of thousands of sisters. We are better versions of ourselves.

Joining Greek life at East Stroudsburg University gives you millions of opportunities. The Phi Beta chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi at ESU isn’t just a chapter; it’s a home to all of us. I speak on behalf of the chapter when I say that our college experience wouldn’t be close to amazing without AOII. We are given leadership opportunities, charity events, community service tasks, and best friends who turn into family. Look around our website and visit our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts to learn who we are. We are friends, family, and sisters. Since 1897, when alpha Omicron Pi was founded, we’ve been in the business of women supporting women.

As Chapter President, Alpha Omicron Pi has taught me to break outside my comfort zone and better myself each and every day. The day I accepted my bid will forever be engraved on my heart as one of the greatest memories of my college experience.
